FORM OYR-PRIV§01What We Collect
- Account: your email address (used for sign-in links and receipts).
- Letter information you enter: name, mailing address, date of birth, and the details of items you choose to dispute (creditor or collector names, last four digits of account numbers, dates, amounts, and your description of what is wrong). Providing the last four digits of your Social Security number is optional and used only inside letters where bureaus request it.
- Payment: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, never your card number.
- Usage: basic technical logs (pages viewed, letters generated, timestamps) to run and secure the service.
We do not collect bureau or bank login credentials, full account numbers, or full Social Security numbers, and we do not access or pull your credit reports.
§02How We Use Information
- To generate the letters and instruction sheets you request;
- To operate your account: sign-in links, receipts, deadline reminders you enable, and service announcements;
- To provide support and maintain security.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
§03AI Processing
Letter drafting uses a third-party AI service that processes the details you enter solely to generate your documents. We use commercial API terms under which your inputs are not used to train the provider's models.
§04Service Providers
We share data only with providers necessary to run the service: payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, secure hosting, and the AI drafting service — each limited to what their function requires and bound by their own contractual obligations.
§05Retention and Deletion
Letter data is retained while your access period is active so you can regenerate and track letters. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@ownyourreport.com; we complete deletion within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or legal compliance (such as payment records).
§06Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted and logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you as required by law.
§07Your Rights
Depending on your state (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. To exercise any of them, email support@ownyourreport.com. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
§08Children
The service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
